Born and bred in New York City, jewelry designer Mimi So founded her namesake luxury lifestyle brand in 1998. Inspired by her personal experiences, playful spirit, and instinctive, modern style, Mimi brings the chapters from her past and present to life throughout her collections. As a young child, she spent countless hours exploring rare gemstones and high jewelry in her parents' atelier. It was there she learned about creativity and design along with the technical and diamond side of the industry. Mimi went on to attend Parsons School of Design, where her appetite for design flourished, ultimately leading to the opening of her very first shop on 47th street at the ripe age of twenty-two.Mimi's authenticity and eye for excellence have garnered her a loyal following of collectors, celebrities, and fans who continue to champion her work. She has been an active board member of the CFDA since 2007, and more recently, an Emeritus Board member. In 2018 Mimi opened a SoHo storefront on Crosby Street – a tribute to her childhood and devotion to the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Today, Mimi So remains an iconic household name and is recognized for being a dreamer, adventurer, artist, activist, and animal lover.
